Early year 2005, a group of working professionals formed a research think-tank for water and energy as an informal set up. The group slowly gathered momentum in discussions on issues related to water, energy and environment. As the number of members in the group increased, the members proposed that the group to register as a registered entity under the Registrar of Society (ROS).
Association of Water and Energy Research Malaysia (AWER) was formed on 6th September 2010 and AWER’s registration was formally approved by Registrar of Society on 5th January 2011.
